Soccer Success

9th Feb 2011

St Joseph's P.S soccer steam strolled to success in the East Down Small Schools League on Friday.  The team had played three matches the week before and topped the table having won all three without conceding.  They knew they faced a tough task in week 2 as they had to take on the teams in 2nd and 3rd in the table.

To begin the day the children had a really difficult game against Alexander Dickson P.S which they eventually pulled away to win 3-0.  Their next match was against their closest challengers Saintfield Academy B team.  Again, another close match was decided late on with St Joseph's scoring three great goals.  After the two difficult opening games the boys and girls improved with every game comfortably defeating Glasswater, St McCartans B Team and finally Drumlins 4-0 to secure the title.  The team played nine matches in total, they won all nine games scoring 33 goals and conceding just one.  Well done to every member of the squad who played their part - Hannah, Molly, Dylan, Caolon B, Daniel, Branan, Caolan C, Ruairi, Conor and Adam.
