Happy Grandparents' Day

26th Jan 2022

During Catholic Schools Week each year, schools celebrate the important role played by grandparents
in passing on the Christian faith and the values that it brings.

The love of a grandparent is to be celebrated and cherished, especially in recent times that saw so many children separated from their grandparents because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These past 2 years we have had to spend time apart, but this year we can celebrate being together again.

As this pandemic continues to affect our lives, it is possible that grandparents may not be able to visit
our schools as normal. It is more important than ever, though, to continue to show our grandparents our
gratitude and celebrate all that they do for us.

Our grandparents love us unconditionally, just as God loves us unconditionally. They show this love in
many ways. One of the most important ways is by showing us how they know God and how important
God is in their lives.

Each class in Saint Joseph's have spent some time this week discussing our grandparents and remembering those who have passed away. We have acknowledged how our granparents are very important and special.

Have a look below and see what we got up to on grandparents day 2022.

Happy grandparents day to all of our grannys, grandads, nannies, papas, gagas, nonas, grandmas, omas, opas, nans, grandas and all of those wonderful adults who love us like a grandparent.

As a school, we have been unable to host a Grandparents’ Day celebration in school like we would in the past. We put our trust in God that next year we will once again open our doors to you.
