Hurling Day
Children from St Joseph's enjoyed a morning of hurling at Teconnaught GAC on Tuesday 30th April. The event was organised by Karol Keating, the Down GAA hurling coach that has been in the school this year. First of all the children played a twelve a side match against Holy Family PS. St Joseph's proved much too strong for their opponents and won the match comfortably. All the children took to the game well but here were star performances from Josh, Tiarnan, Aaron and Dylan.
The children had a break in the sunshine and then resumed with another match. This time the teams were mixed with the children from Holy Family. It was a really enjoyable morning which gave the children an opportunity to play the great game of hurling on a grass pitch for the first time this year. Many thanks to Karol Keating and Teconnaught GAC for the use of their facilities.
