The magic Show

9th Nov 2011

The magic show 2011 was a great success. The first trick that Fred the magician did was amazing! He juggled with circus hoops whilst spinning plates with sticks (one was even in his mouth)!

For his next trick,
Fionn was called up and Caolan was chosen to be her boyfriend and get married. If Fred could successfully get the giant wedding ring off the rope, Caolan and Fionn would be successfully married. Fred did get the wedding ring off and we all laughed horrendously.

Another trick commenced and it really was magic!
Fred put on a Homer Simpson mask and held up an object meant to hypnotise us. We had to stare into this object while Fred counted down from 10 to 0. When he reached 0 we had to stare at the Homer Simpson mask and it got bigger and bigger and bigger. We all thought it was brilliant!

Next, Fred called out five P7’s to play bells. Troy, Niamh, Anna, Conor and Alex. When Fred pointed at each one of them, they had to play their bell. It was funny at one point because Troy was daydreaming when Fred pointed at him and didn’t realize he was supposed to play. Everybody laughed
because it was really funny!

Fred, as well as being a great magician, is also a good musician.
He played about 10 instruments to us! He sang a song and fell in love with Mrs. Madine, brushing his hair and giving a flower to her!  Mrs. Madine went soooo red. Some of the instruments he played were so tiny, one was the tiniest harmonica in the world!

Another fantastic trick began when Fred called up Samuel from P6. We all got confused when he told us that your right hand was your wrong hand and your left hand was your right. It was really amusing though! Samuel was told to hold a flask with no top or no bottom in his left hand and a crayon in his right. Fred told Samuel to slot the crayon into the flask while he did the same. We had to spell the word magic, M-A-G-I-C, while on each letter Fred and Samuel tipped the flask to one side then the other. Although they both started on the same side, Samuel’s crayon ended upside down and Fred’s was the right way up. It wasn’t too funny but it was weird and amusing to watch.

The best bit of the magic show was Caolan and Fionn getting married. It was our last magic show and we all enjoyed it immensely.
